About The Position

Johnson Controls, a leading Building Technology OEM for Healthcare, Manufacturing, Higher Education, K12, and Commercial Real Estate, is seeking skilled HVAC Servicemen to join their growing business. This role offers the opportunity to commission, service, and maintain advanced commercial equipment. The Serviceman will act as a trusted advisor to customers, consulting on comfort, building inefficiency, and other service-related issues. Johnson Controls provides factory certification through their Service Technical Academy (STA) with milestone recognition and monetary rewards, direct access to Factory Technical Support, and equips employees with necessary safety equipment, uniforms, tools, cell phone, technical equipment, and a vehicle.

Requirements

  • Adherence to the company Safety Program.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of commercial and/or industrial, mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the maintenance and repair of three-phase Commercial HVAC equipment, RTU’s, Heat Pumps, and Fans.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to join the UA of Plumbers and Pipefitters.
  • Two years practical working experience in residential, light commercial or commercial mechanical equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) years of Commercial and/or industrial work experience in the HVAC industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the maintenance and minor repair of pumps, VFD’s, Air Handling Units, and Rooftop units.

Responsibilities

  • Commission, service, and maintain advanced commercial equipment.
  • Consult with customers on comfort, building inefficiency, and other service-related issues.
  • Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.
  • Recommend solutions to ensure facilities are running efficiently.
  • Identify enhancements for customer systems reliability and sustainability.
  • Provide labor and material quotes for recommendations.
  • Participate in weekend, night, and holiday call-out service on a rotating basis.
  • Assist Journeymen in the repair and service of centrifugal, absorption, screw, and scroll chillers.
