We are looking for a skilled HVAC Service Journeyperson in commercial, industrial, and/or institutional markets to join our team. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of HVAC service experience, with knowledge of maintenance procedures and troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of HVAC service experience.
  • Knowledge of maintenance procedures and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of PLC’s, transformers, transmitters, and other controls.
  • Familiarity with condensate tanks and deaerators.
  • HVAC Journeyperson status/ G1.
  • Must be a good-standing member with the LOCAL 787.
  • Broad knowledge of boiler controls, including Autoflame, Honeywell, Fireye, and Siemens/Reillo burners.
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software.
  • Working proficiency with a handheld computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad).
  • Adherence to the company safety program.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Appropriate licenses to work with refrigerants, natural gas and electrical.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to be on call nights and weekends on a rotating basis.

Nice To Haves

  • More than 5 years of commercial, industrial, and/or institutional experience.
  • Oil ticket – either G2 or G1.

Responsibilities

  • Wiring, firing, cleaning, start up and testing boilers in the field.
  • Wiring all controls and motors for water tube and fire tube boilers and auxiliary equipment.
  • Reading and understanding wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Troubleshooting, firing, and setting combustion on all types of boilers.
  • Determining valve trim, regulator size and spring, oil gun length and size, and all other parts and accessories needed to fire any boiler.
  • Firing and setting combustion on the oiler with all types of pneumatic controls.
  • Firing and setting combustion on the oiler with all types of electrical controls.
  • Maintaining the condition of and inventory of all tools and monitors.
  • Applying intellect, creativity, adaptability, judgment, and management skills to achieve required results.
  • Ensuring duties and company projects are accomplished efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Supporting other technicians and management with internal and external projects, which include working with outside contractors and all JCI departments to facilitate the smooth installation of JCI-purchased equipment.
  • Learning and getting trained on new products and assisting with commissioning/start up of JCI-manufactured equipment, including executing & managing warranty claims.
  • Adhering to company policies.
  • Working both in a team and an independent environment.
  • Executing contract maintenance visits, inspections, site assessments, service requests and recommending necessary upgrades or repairs to prolong the equipment life cycle of our customers' equipment.
  • Establishing & maintaining a positive relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers through effective oral and written communication skills via phone, computer, and face-to-face.
  • Providing quote estimates for labor & material repairs and upgrades as needed.
  • Serving as the direct customer contact and servicing products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, analyzing, diagnosing, and repairing equipment and systems at the customer’s location.
  • Using cutting-edge software and technology, along with a variety of hand tools, and rigging equipment, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Continually enforcing safety to the highest standards and maintaining security and accountability of company-issued and procured assets by recording use, wear, and conditions.
  • Working as part of a team that is dedicated to delivering the highest standard of service to all its customers which may require the flexibility to work overtime and weekends as the business requires, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Being added to the on-call rotation since we are a 24/7 service company.
