About The Position

We are seeking an experienced HVAC & Mechanical Foreman to lead and coordinate field crews performing HVAC and mechanical construction work in industrial and commercial environments. This role is both hands-on and supervisory, with responsibility for planning work, managing manpower and materials, maintaining production flow, and ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project drawings, specifications, schedules, and applicable codes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (HVAC or mechanical trade certification preferred)
  • 8+ years of hands-on HVAC or mechanical construction experience
  • 2+ years of experience as a lead technician, foreman, or superintendent
  • Strong knowledge of commercial and industrial HVAC and mechanical systems
  • Experience with chillers, boilers, air handlers, pumps, ductwork, piping, and controls
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, schedules, and specifications
  • Understanding of system start-up, testing, balancing, and commissioning processes
  • Proficient with basic computer applications, including spreadsheets, scheduling tools, email, and field management software (Procore, Bluebeam, or similar preferred)
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to [50 pounds] on a regular basis.
  • Relocates a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
  • Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
  • Walks, climbs, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
  • Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
  • May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
  • Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
  • Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
  • See details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, lead, and motivate HVAC and mechanical crews performing installation, retrofit, and maintenance work
  • Plan and assign daily and weekly work activities to support continuous production and meet project milestones
  • Develop and maintain 3-week look-ahead schedules, identifying manpower, material, equipment, and project site access needs
  • Ensure all required materials, tools, and equipment are ordered, staged, and available to prevent downtime
  • Coordinate closely with project management, procurement, and other trades on schedules, deliveries, and work sequencing
  • Perform hands-on installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of HVAC and mechanical systems, including chillers, boilers, air handlers, RTUs, ductwork, piping, and associated equipment
  • Read, interpret, and build work from HVAC drawings, mechanical blueprints, P&IDs, control drawings, and isometrics
  • Track daily progress, production quantities, and issues, and report status using basic computer systems (tablets, laptops, or field software)
  • Utilize computer skills for timekeeping, production reports, material requests, work plans, and email communication
  • Enforce job site safety requirements and promote a strong, proactive safety culture
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate technicians and apprentices to improve quality, productivity, and skill development
  • Participate in inspections, system start-ups, commissioning activities, and punch-list completion
