About The Position

JLL is seeking an experienced HVAC Mechanic to join our team at Gartner in Stamford, CT. This position plays a critical role in maintaining optimal building operations and ensuring a comfortable environment for our client's facility. You will be responsible for the comprehensive maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of all HVAC and building systems while upholding JLL's commitment to excellence and industry best practices. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid Connecticut D-2 or D-1 HVAC license
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience operating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in a commercial property setting
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record
  • Basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Proven experience with HVAC systems, condensing boilers, heaters, pumps, refrigerant systems, compressors, water systems, and RTUs
  • Thorough knowledge of building systems operations, maintenance, and repair
  • Physical ability to lift minimum 50 lbs., climb ladders, stoop, stand, crouch, and reach regularly
  • Ability to work independently as sole maintenance staff member during assigned shifts

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of energy management systems, techniques, and operations
  • Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Familiarity with JLL standards and commercial property protocols
  • Strong initiative, flexibility, and multi-tasking capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair all HVAC equipment including heating systems, pumps, fan coil units, VAV systems, and air distribution equipment
  • Perform electrical, plumbing, and mechanical troubleshooting on HVAC systems and building equipment
  • Monitor and adjust mechanical controls, gauges, valves, thermostats, and diffusers to maintain optimal building comfort
  • Manage Energy Management BMS systems and verify field conditions, making necessary adjustments
  • Execute preventive maintenance tasks including filter changes, coil cleaning, condenser flushing, bearing greasing, belt inspections, and motor bearing replacement
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment rooms, electric rooms, backup generators, fire pumps, sump pumps, and ejector pumps
  • Perform general building repairs including doors, ceilings, railings, floors, plumbing fixtures, lighting, and signage
  • Complete fire and life safety inspections per NFPA standards and local jurisdiction requirements
  • Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer concerns
  • Manage and close all Corrigo work orders, coordinate vendor work, and obtain financial approvals for repairs
  • Assist with moves, adds, changes, and conference room setups as needed
  • Document all activities and report to supervisor regularly
