About The Position

This is an IBEW Union position supporting first shift at NASA Langley Research Center. The successful candidate will join the Maintenance Directorate to support the Center Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering Contract (CMOE) located at NASA Langley Research Center and report directly to the HVAC Shop supervisor. All work will be performed with a high standard of quality and professionalism. All safety policies and procedures must be followed. We are looking for a hardworking, dependable person who wants to be a part of our Amentum Maintenance Services team. Travel around the Hampton Roads Area is not required. When working on Center you will be provided a work vehicle.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Six years’ experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training in a designated field, craft, or trade that can be documented by a certificate or diploma from a reputable organization, school, or trade program.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate well with others.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and follow instructions.
  • Exercise diligence when developing a Safe Plan of Action (SPA) for each task performed.
  • Valid Real ID compliant identification
  • Must be able to complete and maintain a NASA background check.
  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Must put forward professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety/risk hazard to the employee or others.
  • The work environment requires the ability to cooperate and work with individuals at all levels of the company and the client.
  • Must be able to balance scope, schedule, and budget to ensure program success.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring your personal safety, the safety of coworkers and customers is an obligation and primary duty.
  • Supports the Maintenance Services Group mainly by performing preventive maintenance on a wide range of heating and air conditioning systems and refrigeration equipment.
  • Supports the Maintenance Services group Performing regularly scheduled maintenance on heating and air conditioning systems and refrigeration equipment.
  • Checks units for damage, wear of parts, and evidence of breakdown.
  • Starts equipment and checks for proper control function and efficient operation.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
