About The Position

This position is for an HVAC Mechanic responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting heating and cooling systems. The role involves a variety of hands-on tasks including refrigerant handling, pipe work, component replacement, and system inspections. The mechanic will also be responsible for reading technical drawings, maintaining air and water treatment systems, and utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Full Scope Poly
  • Journeyman HVAC or Master HVAC license
  • EPA Universal certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Familiarity with building codes, ordinances and regulations of state and local authorities pertaining to HVAC
  • Proficiency with ASHRAE standards to include ASHRAE 55 -Thermal Environmental Conditions for Human Occupancy, ASHRAE 62.1 – Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality, and ASHRAE 180 - Standard Practice for Inspection and Maintenance of Commercial Building HVAC Systems

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CMMS is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Adding refrigerant to or removing refrigerant from equipment
  • Installing and troubleshooting heating and cooling systems
  • Cutting, welding, soldering, and assembling pipes, tubes, fittings, and fixtures
  • Replacing component and parts (pumps, pipes, fans, etc.)
  • Using power and hand tools safely to support the facilities
  • Maintaining air and water treatment systems
  • Inspecting refrigerant systems for leaks
  • Reading blueprints & schematics, utility plans, mechanical drawings, and electrical and wiring diagrams
  • Entering data into a Computerized Maintenance Management System
  • Other duties as assigned
