About The Position
This position is for an HVAC Mechanic responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting heating and cooling systems. The role involves a variety of hands-on tasks including refrigerant handling, pipe work, component replacement, and system inspections. The mechanic will also be responsible for reading technical drawings, maintaining air and water treatment systems, and utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Requirements
- Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Full Scope Poly
- Journeyman HVAC or Master HVAC license
- EPA Universal certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Familiarity with building codes, ordinances and regulations of state and local authorities pertaining to HVAC
- Proficiency with ASHRAE standards to include ASHRAE 55 -Thermal Environmental Conditions for Human Occupancy, ASHRAE 62.1 – Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality, and ASHRAE 180 - Standard Practice for Inspection and Maintenance of Commercial Building HVAC Systems
Nice To Haves
- Experience with CMMS is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities
- Adding refrigerant to or removing refrigerant from equipment
- Installing and troubleshooting heating and cooling systems
- Cutting, welding, soldering, and assembling pipes, tubes, fittings, and fixtures
- Replacing component and parts (pumps, pipes, fans, etc.)
- Using power and hand tools safely to support the facilities
- Maintaining air and water treatment systems
- Inspecting refrigerant systems for leaks
- Reading blueprints & schematics, utility plans, mechanical drawings, and electrical and wiring diagrams
- Entering data into a Computerized Maintenance Management System
- Other duties as assigned
