About The Position

Campus Services at Emory University is seeking an HVAC Mechanic to install, maintain, inspect, analyze, and repair HVAC systems, components, and equipment. The role includes rewiring high voltage on HVAC equipment and troubleshooting and repairing reciprocating chillers, heating systems, split units, steam systems, boilers, and related control systems and components. The mechanic also performs routine maintenance such as changing filters, lubricating bearings, replacing belts, checking seals, and maintaining pneumatic and electrical controls. The position works in person at an Emory University location; remote work is not an option. The schedule is Friday through Monday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent and four years of HVAC maintenance experience, or completion of a formal HVAC training program and knowledge of HVAC systems.
Valid Georgia driver's license and an insurable driving record.
Ability to lift 50 pounds and to bend, stoop, and twist.
Ability to perform position tasks in person at an Emory University location; remote work is not an option.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, components, and equipment.
Rewire high voltage on HVAC equipment.
Routinely inspect systems and equipment.
Analyze HVAC system operations, identify problems, and repair reciprocating chillers, heating systems, split units, steam systems, boilers, and related control systems and components.
Change filters, lubricate bearings, replace belts, check seals, and maintain pneumatic and electrical controls.
Read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings to perform work assignments.
Operate hand tools, gantry, soldering, brazing, and test equipment used in HVAC work.
Take required precautions when working with hazardous chemicals, materials, and power equipment.
Drive and maintain utility vehicles.
Perform related responsibilities as required.
