Performs technical trades work to maintain heating, ventilating and air conditioning and/or refrigeration equipment as part of the services provided by the facilities management department to maintain University buildings. Responsible for all repairs /maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration systems and components up to DDC / energy management panels (includes, but not limited to all work associated with pneumatic thermostats, calibrating; pneumatic actuators, main air distribution lines; branch air distribution lines; all pneumatic end devices, compressors, dryers, filters, and PRV stations; VAV Controls). Performs journeyman level maintenance and repairs in accordance with industry/trade practices. Provides daily maintenance support to building users to respond to calls for service, make scheduled preventative maintenance inspections and similar service. Performs scheduled preventative maintenance and unscheduled or special work such as overhauls, replacements, surveys and similar projects. Workers use all standard tools, equipment, materials and supplies of the trade and observe all safety rules, regulations and precautions in performing their duties.
