About The Position

Repairs and maintains all components of production CNC machines and equipment including pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, material handling systems, air compressor systems, automated lubrication systems, hoists and performs misc. mechanical, plumbing and electrical building repairs. Operates equipment as required in order to diagnose failure. Troubleshoots equipment to the electronic and/or mechanical component level and dismantles equipment as required to make repairs. Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems. Realigns and adjusts components such as spindles and clutches. Validates repair of machines and equipment following repair. Troubleshoots electrical components and must be able to measure AC and DC voltages and interpret machine system drawings. Provides support and training for the machinists and machine operators. Develops and maintains the preventive maintenance list for each machine and performs the preventative maintenance as required. Schedules repairs using outside suppliers as required. Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems. Supports raw material / saw and part finishing / parts washing activities as required.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in mechanical or electrical disciplines preferred or equivalent training from military or technical school; 5 years related experience and/or training on CNC production machines; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints and machine drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to present numerical data effectively and write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations.
  • Possess basic computer skills and Word Processing and Spreadsheet software and be able to navigate on the internet.
  • Ability to use the following electronic test and diagnostic equipment; digital multi meter, oscilloscope, amp meter, meg meter.
  • Frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to walk; sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel or crouch.
  • Must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to work on ladders.
