About The Position

Installs, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs heating and air conditioning equipment and control systems. Equipment sizes may vary depending on area of responsibility.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in relevant area and four (4) years of appropriate experience.
  • Must have an EPA Universal certification and valid driver’s license.
  • Relevant experience may substitute for education.
  • Must be able to work after normal business hours to address emergency situations when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Attends meetings, briefings, and training classes to increase knowledge and job performance.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair/replace HVAC equipment such as air handlers, DX systems, split systems, package systems, RTUs, VRF systems, condensing boilers, standard boilers, heat exchangers, hot water and/or chill water coils, valves, actuators, pumps and HVAC controls
  • Assist contractors as needed with diagnostic and repairs of HVAC equipment.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on heating and cooling equipment.
  • Service, troubleshoot, repair/replace centrifugal chill water and hot water pumps.
  • Repairs and/or replaces other cooling or mechanical equipment and shop equipment.
  • Responds to cold or hot calls; starts or stops chillers and boilers.
  • Perform minor plumbing repairs such as repair/replace flush valves, spuds, stops, faucets, clear stopped up drains in toilets, urinals, and sinks
  • Tracks time, man-hours, refrigerant usage; orders parts; coordinates with outside suppliers.
  • Other duties assigned.
