As the HVAC Master Mechanic, you will install, service and repair environmental-control systems in residences, department stores, office buildings, and other commercial establishments, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting and structural layout. You will mount compressor and condenser units on platforms or floors using hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications. You will fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork and chassis parts using portable metalworking tools and welding equipment, and install evaporator units in chassis or in air-duct systems using hand tools. This role requires extensive knowledge in specialized functions and a comprehensive understanding of the job's general and specific aspects, with the ability to apply them to complex problems and situations. You will also be responsible for operating and adjusting boilers, servicing up to 150-ton chillers and all related HVAC equipment to safely obtain and maintain optimum efficiency for an energy management program. Additionally, you will maintain, operate, and repair refrigerated walk-ins, reach-ins, cold storage plants, air conditioning, and environmental air conditioning systems up to 580 tons. The position requires knowledge of the operation, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing HVAC equipment, including heating and ventilation equipment, air conditioners, and refrigerators, with experience with Chiller Systems up to 600 Tons.
