As the HVAC Master Mechanic, you will install, service and repair environmental-control systems in residences, department stores, office buildings, and other commercial establishments, utilizing knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting and structural layout. This role involves mounting compressor and condenser units, fabricating and assembling ductwork, installing evaporator units, cutting and bending tubing, joining pipes, soldering joints, and installing expansion and discharge valves. The mechanic will also connect motors, compressors, temperature controls, and ventilation fans, install filters, inject refrigerant, and test systems for proper operation and leaks. Responsibilities include replacing defective controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring. The role may also involve installing, repairing, and servicing air conditioners ranging from fifteen to one hundred and fifty tons cooling capacity in warehouses and other large buildings.
