About The Position

The HVAC Maintenance Technician serves as the HVAC lead for single-family rental homes, managing a route of work orders using a phone-based system and routing technology. The technician diagnoses and repairs residential HVAC equipment and may perform full system installations and change-outs. The work also includes multi-trade maintenance, property turns, inspections, and documenting completed work with photos in an app. The posting describes the work as route-based, with no office or micromanager, and says technicians should aim to resolve issues without repeat visits when possible. The posting offers guaranteed 40 hours per week, even when work orders are short. Compensation is $26–$35 per hour, with mileage reimbursement of $0.76 per mile for use of a personal truck or van, quarterly performance bonuses, and tool reimbursement. Dental coverage is described as 100% covered for the employee and dependents. Health coverage is 90% covered for the employee starting on day one, increasing from year two to 100% for the employee and 50% for dependents. Paid time off starts at two weeks and grows annually to three weeks. The posting identifies the role as based in Jackson, Mississippi in its heading, but the description also refers to homes across Detroit and asks applicants to live within reasonable distance of Detroit.
