About The Position

Embark Behavioral Health in Independence, MO is seeking a passionate and skilled HVAC Technician to join their team. This is a part-time, onsite role where the technician will play a critical role in keeping the buildings safe, comfortable, and operational year-round. The technician will work closely with the maintenance team to diagnose, repair, and replace HVAC systems across a residential and commercial environment. The role involves hands-on work, collaboration, and mentoring others in a mission-driven setting.

Requirements

• EPA 608 Certification, required
• Proven ability to independently diagnose and complete complex HVAC repairs
• Experience with heat pumps, mini‑splits, and commercial HVAC systems
• Hands‑on experience with brazing, charging, and system replacement
• Comfortable working in an active residential campus environment
• Knowledge of HVAC and maintenance safety protocols, OSHA guidelines, and emergency procedures; CPR/First Aid Certified or willing to complete employer‑provided training.
• Must maintain a current Missouri driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair residential and commercial HVAC systems, using Embark-provided tools and equipment
• Perform major repairs including recovery, brazing, vacuuming, charging, and system replacement
• Service 5‑ton split systems, mini‑splits, and large commercial units (up to 50‑ton)
• Safely handle refrigerants and complete proper system recovery
• Partner with and train Embark maintenance staff on HVAC best practices
• Support seasonal HVAC maintenance planning and documentation
