About The Position

This role involves performing on-site troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair of Controls BAS, including controllers, sensors, actuators, and networked devices. The technician will support commissioning, system startups, point-to-point verification, and functional testing under the guidance of engineering or senior technicians. Responsibilities include responding to service calls, alarms, and customer-reported issues professionally, performing firmware updates, configuration changes, and minor programming adjustments. The technician will also conduct scheduled preventative maintenance, system inspections, and health checks, identifying and recommending corrective actions for failing components. Additionally, the role supports system optimization for performance, reliability, and energy efficiency, acting as an on-site representative and clearly communicating system issues to customers. Coordination with customers regarding access and scheduling, accurate documentation of service activities, and communication of recurring issues or improvement opportunities to leadership are key aspects of this position. Collaboration with Service Engineers, Project Teams, and Controls Engineers for advanced troubleshooting and support for ongoing service contracts is expected. The role also includes participation in knowledge sharing, continuous improvement initiatives, and assisting the office team in quoting new service work opportunities.

Requirements

  • Experience with Controls BAS troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair.
  • Ability to support commissioning, system startups, point-to-point verification, and functional testing.
  • Proficiency in responding to service calls, alarms, and customer-reported issues.
  • Experience with firmware updates, configuration changes, and minor programming adjustments.
  • Skills in conducting preventative maintenance, system inspections, and health checks.
  • Ability to identify failing or at-risk components and recommend corrective actions.
  • Experience assisting with system optimization for performance, reliability, and energy efficiency.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, including explaining technical issues in non-technical terms.
  • Ability to coordinate with customers regarding access, scheduling, and service completion.
  • Proficiency in documenting service activities, findings, and resolutions in a service management system.
  • Experience recording parts usage, system changes, and follow-up recommendations.
  • Ability to communicate recurring issues or improvement opportunities to leadership and engineering teams.
  • Experience working with Service Engineers, Project Teams, and Controls Engineers.
  • Understanding of the handoff between project completion and ongoing service contracts.
  • Willingness to participate in knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to coordinate best practices, training, and support for technicians.
  • Capability to suggest training courses to leadership.
  • Assisting the office team in quoting new service work opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance, system inspections, and health checks.

  • Assist with system optimization to improve performance, reliability, and energy efficiency.
  • Serve as on-site representative, maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach at all times.
  • Clearly explain system issues, findings, and corrective actions to customers in non-technical terms.
  • Coordinate with customers regarding access, scheduling, and service completion.
  • Accurately document service activities, findings, and resolutions in Divcon’s service management system.
  • Record parts usage, system changes, and follow-up recommendations.
  • Communicate recurring issues or improvement opportunities to service leadership and engineering teams.
  • Work closely with Service Engineers, Project Teams, and Controls Engineers for advanced troubleshooting or escalations.
  • Support handoff between project completion and ongoing service contracts.
  • Participate in knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate best practices, training and support for all technicians assigned to the Lead Service Technician team.
  • Suggest training courses (both external and internal) to leadership team for technicians.
  • Assist office team in quoting new service work opportunities.
