About The Position

As an HVAC Maintenance Mechanic, under the direct supervision of the Facilities Supervisor, you will maintain the facility's environmental systems. Daily, you will assist with general maintenance, installation, and repairs of expansion units, chilled water fan cool units, refrigeration equipment, and pneumatic/electronic control systems. You will handle both routine and emergency tasks, ensuring a comfortable, safe, and functional environment. Success in this role requires strong HVAC knowledge, practical repair experience, proactive problem-solving, and a commitment to uninterrupted system performance.

Requirements

High School Graduate General studies Certificate
HVACR technical education or Equivalent years of experience in the field
HVAC Universal Technician

Nice To Haves

Vocational School Grad
At least 3 years commercial or industrial HVACR experience
At least 1 year of practical experience in an accredited hospital facilities department

Responsibilities

Maintain the facility's environmental systems
Assist with general maintenance, installation, and repairs of expansion units, chilled water fan cool units, refrigeration equipment, and pneumatic/electronic control systems
Handle both routine and emergency tasks, ensuring a comfortable, safe, and functional environment
Complete assigned work orders and/or PMs in a timely manner or inform supervisor of any problems accomplishing a task
Immediately identify and inform supervisor of any malfunctioning equipment
Achieve to reduce maintenance and utility costs through improved operational procedures
Help to maintain a clean, safe and organized work area
Maintain a professional attitude toward patients, visitors and staff at all times
Vary work schedule or shift to meet the department staffing needs
