About The Position

Emerson is seeking an HVAC professional to operate and maintain all heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment to support environmental conditions throughout the facility at its Chanhassen, MN location. This role involves working with drawings, specifications, or instructions to manage boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, heat pumps, and pneumatic or electronic controls. The position requires responding to emergency requests, installing and modifying equipment to maintain specific humidity or temperature levels, and providing chemical control for boiler and chiller water systems. A key aspect of the role is utilizing a preventive maintenance program to ensure HVAC equipment is regularly maintained and in good working order. The mechanic will also troubleshoot equipment, make recommendations for replacement or redesign, and perform tests to monitor contamination levels in HVAC systems or waste. Documentation of all maintenance activities will be done using the facility's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED)
  • Four (4) or more years of industrial HVAC experience
  • EPA 608 Certification
  • Ability to push, pull, or lift over 50 pounds
  • Ability to travel between Twin Cities facilities as needed (Shakopee, Chanhassen, and Eden Prairie)
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • HVAC Degree or certificate
  • Holds a valid Minnesota First Class "C" Boilers License or higher

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain all boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, heat pumps and pneumatic or electronic controls.
  • Respond to emergency requests to eliminate unsafe or inefficient conditions.
  • Install new equipment and modifies existing equipment to maintain humidity or temperature levels as required.
  • Provide chemical control to chiller and boiler water to ensure efficient operation.
  • Use preventive maintenance program to ensure that a wide variety of HVAC equipment is maintained on a regular basis and kept in good working order.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and makes recommendations for replacement or redesign.
  • Perform tests to monitor and report contamination levels of HVAC systems or waste.
  • Use facility Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document all scheduled preventative maintenance tasks, emergency maintenance, and labor activities.
