HVAC Maintenance Mechanic
About The Position
As an HVAC Maintenance Mechanic, you will work under the direct supervision of the Facilities Supervisor to maintain the facility's environmental systems. Your daily tasks will involve assisting with general maintenance, installation, and repairs of various units including expansion units, chilled water fan cool units, refrigeration equipment, and pneumatic/electronic control systems. You will be responsible for handling both routine and emergency tasks to ensure a comfortable, safe, and functional environment within the facility. This role demands strong HVAC knowledge, practical repair experience, proactive problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining uninterrupted system performance.
Requirements
- High School Graduate General studies
- Certificate of HVACR technical education or Equivalent years of experience in the field
- HVAC Universal Technician
Nice To Haves
- Vocational School Grad
- At least 3 years commercial or industrial HVACR experience
- At least 1 year of practical experience in an accredited hospital facilities department
Responsibilities
- Completes assigned work orders and/or PMs in a timely manner or informs supervisor of any problems accomplishing a task.
- Immediately identifies and informs supervisor of any malfunctioning equipment.
- Achieves to reduce maintenance and utility costs through improved operational procedures.
- Helps to maintain a clean, safe and organized work area.
- Maintains a professional attitude toward patients, visitors and staff at all times.
- Varies work schedule or shift to meet the department staffing needs.
