About The Position

North Idaho College’s Workforce Training Center is seeking a skilled and dedicated Lead HVAC Instructor to guide the next generation of HVAC professionals. In this role, you will coordinate and deliver training activities for HVAC Apprenticeship courses, ensuring students are fully prepared for the Journeyman examination. Instruction integrates both theory and hands-on application at industry standards, with curriculum and activities aligned to state and national credentialing requirements. The Lead Instructor will design and deliver courses, develop syllabi, manage lab instruction, and supervise students in both classroom and lab settings. You will also prepare and oversee online instructional delivery, collaborate on program expansion through new certifications and continuing education, and maintain effective relationships with community and industry partners. Additional responsibilities include ensuring HVAC lab equipment is maintained and supporting recruitment efforts to strengthen the program.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to deliver engaging instruction.
  • Solid understanding of HVAC trade laws in Idaho and neighboring states.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Ability to foster positive working relationships with students, faculty, and community partners.
  • Three years full-time equivalent experience as an HVAC Journeyman.
  • Active Journeyman HVAC license in the State of Idaho.
  • Ability to attain Quality Matters (APPQMR) certificate within six months of hire.
