About The Position

Champion & Nash HVAC is seeking a Lead HVAC Installer to lead install teams. This role involves instructing your team and executing professional install jobs, working hands-on with the crew while installing a wide range of HVAC and refrigeration equipment. The Lead Installer is responsible for ensuring installations are done properly, safely, and to company standards, all while providing excellent customer service. This is a full-time role reporting to the General Manager and based out of the Pasadena office (Houston, TX).

Requirements

  • 5+ years of field experience
  • Active Driver’s License
  • Tech Savvy - The ability to use tablets and learn work related software with ease
  • Verifiable experience to develop quotations for repairs and installations of replacement equipment
  • Demonstrable analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans and manuals
  • Proven ability in installing, replacing, and serving HVAC systems in new residential and commercial properties
  • Willingness to work weekends (Saturdays) or on-call shifts when needed
  • Must consider safety one’s primary job and must have general knowledge of safe working practices and OSHA requirements.
  • Regularly and routinely required to sit; stand, walk, stoop, use hands to handle controls; hear, and talk.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, work in hot and cold environments, and work in small crawl spaces.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move 50+ lbs is required.
  • Employees are required to work outdoors throughout the seasons.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and cooling units for residential customers
  • Diagnose and repair of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of heating, air conditioning and ventilation units
  • Maintain proper inventory, parts, tools, and knowledge in using appropriate safety equipment in the vehicle
  • Mentor and train apprentices on the job and provide them with learning opportunities
  • Diagnose service issues, obtain any replacement parts, calibrate system to manufacturer’s recommendations
  • Provide excellent customer service abilities in dealing with customers to resolve technical, logistical, and scheduling issues
  • Perform quality work with honesty and diligence and follow company procedures and values
  • Lead install teams and instruct team members on executing professional install jobs
  • Develop quotations for repairs and installations of replacement equipment
