About The Position

Join Carrier as an HVAC Lab Technician – ADV and play a pivotal role in testing, evaluating, and validating cutting-edge commercial HVAC systems. As the technical gatekeeper, you’ll ensure the reliability and performance of critical cooling units for high-stakes environments like hospitals and data centers. Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5+ years servicing/maintaining commercial HVAC equipment
• Strong background in HVAC operations, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics
• Proficiency with commercial chiller systems and high-power electrical setups
• EPA certification for refrigerant handling
• Hands-on experience with diagnostics, calibration, and troubleshooting

Nice To Haves

• 5+ years in chiller/HVAC operations or high-power laboratory environments
• AS or AAS in Mechatronics Engineering Technology or related technical field
• Completion of Skilled Trades Apprenticeship
• Advanced knowledge of arc flash protocols and medium voltage operations

Responsibilities

• Execute detailed performance test runs on water-cooled and air-cooled commercial chillers
• Set up instrumentation (flow meters, pressure sensors, data acquisition systems) and fine-tune test parameters
• Apply electrical expertise to safely operate and maintain high-voltage/three-phase machinery
• Diagnose and troubleshoot failures in PLCs, VFDs, or instrumentation, minimizing downtime
• Calibrate laboratory equipment for pressure, temperature, flow, and electrical measurements
• Oversee facility support systems including boilers, cooling towers, and high-pressure pumps
• Champion EHS policies, 5S standards, and maintain a zero-incident safety environment
