Northland Builders Inc is seeking a reliable person to join their team of skilled electricians, carpenters, plumbers and labourers. This is a full-time position with an excellent opportunity for growth. The Sheet Metal Installer must ensure all work is completed in compliance with relevant safety regulations and company policies. They will follow project specifications and timelines, working efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines. Effective communication with supervisors and team members is essential to maintain high standards of quality and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in residential or commercial HVAC work preferred.
  • Journeyman sheet metal ticket or relevant experience preferred.
  • Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.

Responsibilities

  • Review blueprints along with building code specifications to determine work details and procedures.
  • Perform Quantity Takeoffs from drawings and adjust for efficiency in the field.
  • Assemble sheet metal parts by fitting and joining them together and install ductwork and fittings to residential, commercial and industrial spaces
  • Install ductwork, ERVs, IDUs, and kitchen/restaurant duct work.
  • Understanding of different connectors and hanger layout.
  • Using hand tools and benders to construct sheet metal components in the field.
  • Collaborate with other construction professionals.
  • Identify maintenance risks on equipment and always maintain safety practices.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Organize tools and materials.
  • Lead and teach junior members of a team.
