About The Position

Childers Air Plumbing & Electric is looking for a dependable and skilled HVAC Installer to join our installation team. This role involves installing residential and light commercial HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, package units, ductwork, and thermostats. The job also includes removing and replacing existing HVAC equipment, setting and connecting refrigerant lines, drain lines, ductwork, gas piping, and electrical components and controls. Additionally, the role requires performing brazing, pressure testing, evacuation, and system charging, assisting with duct modifications and airflow improvements, and ensuring all installations adhere to codes, manufacturer specifications, and company standards. The installer will also be responsible for completing system startups, verifying proper operation, maintaining clean and safe job sites, protecting customer homes, communicating with team members, taking photos, completing documentation, maintaining tools and equipment, and showing up on time and in uniform. The role requires working in various environments, including attics, crawlspaces, basements, and outdoor settings.

Requirements

  • HVAC installation experience preferred
  • Ability to use tools and equipment including hand & power tools, gauges, vacuum pumps, torches
  • EPA certification preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (preferred)
  • Team-oriented with a strong work ethic
  • Dependable, professional, and detail-focused
  • Able to lift heavy equipment and work in tight or confined spaces

Responsibilities

  • Install residential and light commercial HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, package units, ductwork & thermostats
  • Remove and replace existing HVAC equipment
  • Set and connect refrigerant lines, drain lines, ductwork, gas piping, and electrical components and controls
  • Perform brazing, pressure testing, evacuation, and system charging
  • Assist with duct modifications and airflow improvements
  • Follow all installation codes, manufacturer specs, and company standards
  • Complete system startup and verify proper operation
  • Keep job sites clean, safe, and organized
  • Protect customers’ homes during installation
  • Communicate with installers, dispatch, and management throughout projects
  • Take before-and-after job photos and complete service documentation
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and materials
  • Show up on time, in uniform, and ready to work
  • Work in attics, crawlspaces, basements, and outdoor environments
