About The Position
This position provides repair, maintenance, and service of HVAC systems according to building codes and standards. The role involves conducting routine inspections, maintaining inventory through planning and purchasing, and responding to work requests in a timely manner within a Total Maintenance System (TMS). A key responsibility is supervising inmate workers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of the facility's HVAC systems. The position may require responding to emergency callbacks for service on a rotating basis and assisting in other areas of the Building and Grounds department, such as preventative maintenance, construction projects, equipment repair, electrical, welding, carpentry, electronics, or outside maintenance.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of the installation, repair, and maintenance practices for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
- Demonstrated skill in the use of tools and supplies related to the trade.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise the work of others.
- Demonstrated ability to keep narrative and statistical records relating to the maintenance and repair of equipment.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge in web-based HVAC control systems.
- Knowledge in mini-split system, split systems, and package units.
- Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Programs and Gmail or preventative maintenance programs.
- Knowledge in multiple trades experience.
