The supervisor is responsible for inspecting work areas, tools, and equipment, providing safety training, and investigating accidents. They will monitor employee work levels, review performance, and requisition necessary materials and supplies. Additionally, this position requires inspecting and testing completed work to ensure it meets standards, arranging worker training, and developing/evaluating installation policies and procedures. The supervisor will also compute cost estimates, examine systems for needed installations or repairs, and confer with personnel to coordinate activities and resolve issues. Monitoring tool and part inventories, performing skilled repair operations with a hands-on approach, participating in budget preparation, and interpreting blueprints are also key functions. The role includes counseling employees, recommending personnel actions, evaluating contractor work, compiling operational records, meeting with vendors, and designing equipment configurations.
