The HVAC Field Supervisor role acts as a crucial link between field technicians and the office, splitting time between office duties and job sites. This role provides real-time troubleshooting and technical guidance to technicians, oversees field quality, efficiency, and safety, and contributes to technician development. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with deep HVAC knowledge who prefers coaching technicians through problems.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in HVAC field service, installation, or technical operations.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to coach others.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and respond quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort with mobile technology, dispatch software, and communication tools.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to travel between job sites.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, work in confined spaces and varying temperatures, and stand, crouch, and climb ladders for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience (strongly preferred)
  • Home services or residential HVAC experience

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary support contact for technicians during service calls, providing real-time troubleshooting and technical guidance.
  • Conduct field visits to support technicians, inspect work quality, and provide on-the-spot coaching.
  • Step in to handle complex or escalated service issues and challenging customer situations.
  • Partner with dispatch and the office to manage schedules, job priorities, routing, and response times.
  • Ensure technicians have the necessary tools, materials, and information for each job.
  • Track job progress and keep the office and management informed.
  • Perform quality inspections to uphold workmanship, safety, and customer service standards.
  • Enforce safety policies and regulatory compliance in the field.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Mentor and coach technicians to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Support onboarding and training for new team members.
  • Promote best practices, efficiency, and professionalism in the field and office.
