Position Summary We are looking for an experienced individual to fill the role of Facilities Controls Engineer supporting the Facilities Operations Group. As a Facilities Control Engineer at SAS, you’ll be directly responsible for the design, maintenance and continuous improvement projects of facility control systems supporting semiconductor fab wafer production. Facility control systems are designed to run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without interruption. This role is ideal for an engineering professional with hands-on experience in facilities controls, industrial automation, and critical infrastructure systems. In this role you will work with cross functional disciplines to ensure reliable, efficient, and scalable facility control systems.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical/Controls Engineering and experience working at an industrial facility (semiconductor/manufacturing preferred).
  • Minimum three years of controls engineering experience, design and construction experience a plus
  • Software knowledge: Experience with SCADA and PLC Ladder Logic, Rockwell RS Studio and Siemens Step 7 Siemens WinCC Open Architecture is a plus.
  • Experience with Profibus, Modbus, or other Can-bus style protocols.
  • Familiarity with High Performance HMI best practices, SQL, and Python a plus.
  • Knowledge of ISA 18.2 standards.
  • Have the ability to create construction drawings, details, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), etc.
  • Intermediate knowledge of mechanical and chemical engineering principles and systems including pumps, pneumatics, fans, flow meters, air handling systems, industrial chilled water, heating, process piping, rotating equipment, vibration analysis, and heat transfer is a benefit.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, mentor, and influence a team of engineers and project managers, fostering a collaborative and safety-conscious work environment.
  • Promote a process safety mindset and ensure compliance with site air permits, driving abatement efficiencies to meet world-class standards. Oversee equipment quality to meet fab production requirements.
  • Provide day-to-day support for operational, maintenance, and engineering issues within Facilities Operations Maintenance (FOM). Monitor and address quality and capacity concerns across systems. Seeks out innovative concepts/technologies to improve system and operational efficiency.
  • Project management for facilities operations projects.
  • Operation and maintenance of industrial control systems.
  • Continuously improve automation and standardization for HVAC Thermal and Exhaust abatement processes.
  • Writes & modifies program code; creates program code in a logical manner that is easily understood by others.
  • Lead contractors through program design, simulation, testing, and start-up of new equipment.
  • Maintain all control equipment, servers, and operator work stations to ensure 100% uptime.
  • Troubleshoots basic PLC issues, traces problems & provides solutions.
  • Identify, develop and design control panels, improvements and upgrades to control systems for enhanced system functionality and reliability.
  • Work with engineering system owners, as clients, to improve control of their systems or solve control issues.
  • Report performance trends/issues to management and recommend solutions.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and train Facilities Control personnel on all new systems.
  • Define control system and instrumentation maintenance requirements and procedures.
