HVAC Experienced Service Technician
About The Position
We are seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to join our team. This role involves performing thorough maintenance and repair on all ages of equipment, accurately diagnosing heating and air conditioning system issues, and recognizing potential breakdown issues before they happen. The technician will make appropriate recommendations to customers regarding repair or replacement options for their systems. Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with residential HVAC maintenance or service repairs, including heat pumps, gas furnaces, air conditioning units, etc. or a Tech Builder program graduate
- HVAC Mech IV license required- (must get within 30 days of hire, we'll pay for your passing test!)
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- EPA Universal or Type II EPA certification
- Knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use and maintenance of required tools
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in the English language
- A valid driver’s license
- A clean driving record
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
Nice To Haves
- Additional years of experience with residential HVAC maintenance or service repairs, including heat pumps, gas furnaces, air conditioning units, etc.
- NATE Certification
- HVAC education (Associates, Diploma, Certificate) or Manufacturer Training
- HVAC Mech IV and EPA Type certification (mentioned in 'All About YOU' section)
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough maintenance & repair on all ages of equipment.
- Accurately diagnose heating and air conditioning system issues.
- Recognize potential breakdown issues before they happen and make appropriate recommendations to the customer.
- Discuss various options for clients regarding repair or replacing their system.
- Explain the benefits of annual maintenance club memberships to homeowners.
- Provide safe and quality service with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments, often in changing weather conditions and temperatures.
- Move between residential homes, mechanical rooms, and job sites, including tight or confined spaces.
- Climb ladders, work on rooftops, and access attics, basements, and crawl spaces.
- Safely lift, carry, and maneuver equipment and materials.
- Perform tasks involving bending, kneeling, reaching, and standing for extended periods.
- Use hand and power tools.
- Maintain awareness of surroundings and follow all safety protocols.
- Be on-call on a rotating basis for weeknights and weekends.
