About The Position

Johnson Controls, a leading Building Technology OEM for Healthcare, Manufacturing, Higher Education, K12, and Commercial Real Estate, is seeking skilled HVAC Tradesmen to join their growing business. This role offers the opportunity to service and maintain advanced heavy commercial and industrial equipment, learn from top HVAC teams, and gain factory certification through the Service Technical Academy (STA). As a trusted advisor, you will solve comfort and building inefficiency issues, acting as a mentor to peers and performing mechanical installations under the direction of the Employer. The position involves troubleshooting, responding to warranty calls, keeping stakeholders informed of job progress, providing recommendations for facility efficiency, and upselling opportunities with supporting quotes.

Requirements

• Adherence to the company Safety Program.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Familiarity with HVAC equipment.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently.
• A valid driver’s license, with no major or frequent traffic violations.
• Willingness to join the UA of Plumbers and Pipefitters.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical installations as assigned by the Employer, limited only by their capabilities, at the respective apprentice rate of pay.
• Perform all assigned work under the direction of the Employer.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems.
• Respond to basic warranty calls.
• Keep JCI, contractors, and the customer informed of job progress and issues as needed.
• Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently, including upselling opportunities.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
