We are looking for a highly motivated, accountable individual to fill the role of Facilities Mechanical Engineer supporting the Facilities Operations Group. The HVAC Engineer will manage the mission-critical central utilities of our state-of-the-art wafer fabs, systems that must operate with absolute reliability, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in facilities engineering, mechanical systems, or HVAC/MEP design and construction.
  • Proven data analysis experience with a strong aptitude for technical problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in creating and modifying construction drawings, P&IDs, and PFDs using AutoCAD.

Nice To Haves

  • PE license or EIT certification.
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE standards.
  • Basic to Intermediate knowledge of chemical engineering principles such as wet scrubbers, acid/base reaction chemistry, chemical distribution systems, water treatment, mass transfer, mass and energy balances, solubility and scaling; as well as mechanical principles, including pumps, pneumatics, fans, flow meters, air handling systems, industrial chilled water, heating, process piping, rotating equipment, vibration analysis, heat transfer, and thermodynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert engineering support for the operation and maintenance of critical facilities equipment.
  • Leverage process and equipment data to analyze performance and ensure all systems operate within rigorous specifications.
  • Utilize advanced methodologies including FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, and 8D problem solving to maximize equipment reliability.
  • Lead critical troubleshooting efforts, including off-hours response, to resolve technical system issues and minimize downtime.
  • Forecast utility system capacity based on factory demand projections, developing strategic plans to ensure redundancy and future scalability.
  • Manage and forecast operational expenditures, spearheading cost-reduction projects to optimize maintenance expenses.
  • Continuously refine operations and maintenance programs, integrating global best practices into site specifications and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Actively scout and implement innovative concepts and emerging technologies to modernize utility systems.
  • Play a key role in the lifecycle of the fab, assisting with system design, construction, startup, and commissioning.
  • Champion a culture of safety and productivity by applying 6S methodology across the workplace.
  • Collaborate closely with internal customer organizations to ensure seamless, uninterrupted operations.
