About The Position

The HVAC technician is a position in the Facilities Management department that requires extensive mastery of HVAC maintenance and repair. Regardless of specialty, an HVAC Technician III may be required to perform other maintenance tasks as needed, such as minor repairs or assisting with other projects. The level III is typically considered a “master” level, requiring additional certifications or licensure.

Requirements

  • Experience as an HVAC technician.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting
  • Demonstrated abilities of the skills listed above
  • Licensure or certification indicating mastery of HVAC systems.
  • A valid driver license may be required for this position.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment by following established safety procedures and protocols.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
  • Performs routine to highly complex maintenance and inspections, diagnosing and repairing issues, ensuring all systems are operating efficiently and effectively.
  • Works with a variety of systems and equipment, including boilers, chillers, air handlers, and control systems.
  • Works independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Does not require the assistance of outside contractors to perform complex and technical tasks related to HVAC operations, repair, or maintenance.
  • May lead individuals or groups to accomplish projects or other difficult tasks related to HVAC.
