About The Position

FHP Manufacturing, a joint venture between Robert Bosch and Carrier, is seeking an HVAC Development Engineer for their Fort Lauderdale, Florida location. This role is crucial in establishing validation test plans for HVAC units, supporting simulation models, and ensuring product compliance with regulatory standards. The engineer will be responsible for product development from customer requirements to component level, overseeing testing, assembly, and manufacturing processes, and communicating results to cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering disciplines (Mechanical / Mechatronics preferred)
  • Min 1-3 years’ experience (preferably within HVAC)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • HVAC System Optimization Experience (Flow, Efficiency, Capacity)

  • Experience in some of the following areas is a plus:
  • Strong organizational & interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Design experience with CAD tools (e.g., NX, AutoCAD)
  • FEA and / or CFD Analysis Tools
  • Experience with technical risk assessment tools (e.g., FMEA, DRBFM)
  • Data Analysis (Excel, Programming languages, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Establish validation Test Plans for HVAC units, Specifications, Reliability testing and perform the tests in lab per the established plan
  • Support build of all IPM and FARR simulation models for the new and legacy products by providing necessary inputs
  • Raise Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and track their progress
  • Create component specifications to support resourcing and procurement
  • Apply UL & AHRI Regulatory knowledge to products testing and specification (AHRI, UL, ETL)
  • Develop products based on customer requirements and current or future regulations and transferring those requirements down to component level
  • Test prototypes, write development test reports and document results according to company rules
  • Oversee product development tasks including testing, assembly & manufacturing
  • Communicate development and test validations results timely
  • Establish & Deliver development test engineer tasks per planned Project Milestones and scopes
  • Own the resolution of technical problems or prompt response to address issues and escalate as needed
  • Be a team player within cross-functional teams, understand multidiscipline needs (Engineering, Marketing, Assembly, Logistics, Purchasing etc.) and support them as needed
  • Adhere to Safety & Security Protocols
  • Follow-up on Test Plans, Ratings, Durability and Reliability
