Requirements

  • Advanced computer skills (Metasys preferred)
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical testing and commissioning tools
  • Strong documentation acumen
  • Good communication and listening skills
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems
  • Low voltage/120-volt wiring skills preferred
  • A valid driver’s license, with no major or frequent traffic violations

Responsibilities

  • Traveling 75-100% of the time to and assisting JCI Customers at all levels of building automation system programming, checkout and commissioning.
  • Validating hardware and software commissioning activities for building automation systems.
  • Applying advanced HVAC & Building Automation experience to work on assigned projects.
  • Working directly on multiple project teams to assist the Project Managers and Field Technicians.
  • Loading system-level controller software.
  • Performing advanced commissioning and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices (such as: sensors, actuators, etc.) and completing all required commissioning documentation.
  • Keeping management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues.
  • Calibrating systems requiring basic electronic test equipment.
  • Completing administrative tasks including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
  • Documenting changes and providing information for as-built documentation.
  • Communicating with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
  • Following all safety standards and attending required safety training.
  • Maintaining a high degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.
