About The Position

The Husky Material Handler is responsible for managing material inventory, preparing boxes for shipment, supporting team members with mechanical issues, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. This role also involves managing resin rail cars and bulk trucks, grinding scrap material, monitoring auxiliary equipment, and participating in safety training.

Requirements

  • Basic mechanical aptitude with ability to assist in troubleshooting equipment issues.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines consistently.
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to accurately monitor, record, and maintain production data.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to support production staff and maintenance personnel.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas.

Responsibilities

  • Manage material inventory, ensuring that all supplies are readily available for production processes.
  • Make boxes for assigned lines and prepare them for shipment once they are packed.
  • Support team members in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area to comply with safety standards.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure high-quality production output.
  • Manage the resin rail cars and bulk trucks per procedure.
  • Keep accurate records while working with the Production Scheduler as it relates to managing resin inventories.
  • Grind clear or color scrap/material in the grinding room while keeping the grinding area clean and orderly in a safe manner.
  • Monitor and document key process parameters of all auxiliary equipment.
  • Report any anomalies to maintenance leadership.
  • Monitor and change all auxiliary equipment filters and filter elements in accordance with schedule, as well as, on an “as needed basis”.
  • Participate in safety training sessions and adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines.
