About The Position

The Husky Material Handler is responsible for managing material inventory, ensuring supplies are available for production, and preparing materials for shipment. This role involves troubleshooting mechanical issues, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and adhering to standard operating procedures. The position also includes managing resin rail cars and bulk trucks, grinding scrap material, monitoring process parameters, and changing filters for auxiliary equipment. Participation in safety training and adherence to safety regulations are essential.

Requirements

  • Basic mechanical aptitude with ability to assist in troubleshooting equipment issues.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines consistently.
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to accurately monitor, record, and maintain production data.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to support production staff and maintenance personnel.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining cleanliness and organization of work areas.

Responsibilities

  • Manage material inventory, ensuring that all supplies are readily available for production processes.
  • Responsible for making boxes for assigned lines and preparing them for shipment once they are packed.
  • Support team members in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area to comply with safety standards.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure high-quality production output.
  • Manage the resin rail cars and bulk trucks per procedure. Keeps accurate records while working with the Production Scheduler as it relates to managing resin inventories.
  • Responsible for grinding clear or color scrap/material in the grinding room while keeping the grinding area clean and orderly in a safe manner.
  • Monitor and document key process parameters of all auxiliary equipment. Reporting any anomalies to maintenance leadership.
  • Monitor and change all auxiliary equipment filters and filter elements in accordance with schedule, as well as, on an “as needed basis”.
  • Participate in safety training sessions and adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines.
