The Hunger Advocacy Fellow is a year-long formative experience designed to support the growth of leaders, individuals of faith, and professional advocates dedicated to ending hunger and creating a just world where all are fed. This position, based in St. Paul, MN, offers the opportunity to learn concrete skills in faith-based policy advocacy by becoming an integral part of the ELCA advocacy staff. The fellowship focuses on analyzing and addressing the root causes of hunger and economic injustice, promoting a holistic approach to hunger ministry, and building the capacity of ELCA World Hunger by deepening and expanding Lutheran statewide advocacy efforts within synods, coalitions, and networks. The 2026-27 Hunger Advocacy Fellow is a full-time contract employee with benefits, and the 2025-26 Fellow will be placed with Lutheran Advocacy - Minnesota. The position offers an hourly rate of $20 plus benefits, including health insurance. The fellowship runs from September 8, 2026, to August 31, 2027. Candidates must reside within the fifty United States or the District of Columbia and be authorized to work lawfully in the United States. All new hires will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the U.S. and complete necessary employment eligibility verification forms.
