About The Position

We are seeking a motivated Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Systems Engineering Co-Op to join our Humanoid Robotics team. As we transition our current projects from R&D into viable, real-world products for our customers, you will work directly alongside senior engineers across a range of applications. In this role, you will apply hands-on technical skills to verify designs through dynamic calculations, modify system components using 3D modeling, and validate performance via real-world prototype testing. Your workload may be dedicated to a single project or distributed across multiple concurrent initiatives.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Ability to commute to the assigned work location
  • 3D CAD modeling (Creo preferred)
  • Finite Element Analysis (Ansys)
  • Technical computing & simulation tools (Matlab)
  • Strong analytical capabilities, basic understanding of electromechanical integration, and a practical hands-on approach to prototyping and troubleshooting
  • External applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment VISA or other sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Perform theoretical calculations, including torque and force analysis, motor power sizing, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) analysis.
  • Utilize Creo to model basic parts and design custom test fixturing for current and upcoming development projects.
  • Conduct detailed model analyses using Ansys FEA, Matlab simulations, and first-principles hand calculations to verify design functionality against application requirements.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers during the physical assembly of prototype systems bound for customer delivery.
  • Draft structured test procedures, set up test rigs, and execute validation testing on prototypes and newly developed systems.
