The Orange County Social Services Department has an opening for a Human Services Supervisor I. An employee of this class is primarily responsible for managing a work unit in one program area while supervising the work of Human Services Coordinators, Human Services Specialists and Human Services Technicians. Supervision responsibilities include overseeing application processing, determination and re-determination of eligibility for one public assistance program. This position is responsible for managing staff working in Employment Services. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Human Services Supervisor II with some leeway to exercise independent judgment within the framework of applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures in the performance of duties, both in terms of planning and accomplishing work and in making decisions regarding client/family needs and requests. Supervision is a responsibility of this class. Does related work as required. This position will be located at the Drakeford in Carrboro. Hiring range is based on the Orange County Social Services Step Plan. The Step Plan is based on years of Human Services Supervisor I experience. Full credit is given for years of experience performing the same job functions. Partial credit is given for years of experience performing related job functions. The top half of the scale is reserved for career employees with senior level experience in the same role. Background check and SBI background check with fingerprinting is required.
