About The Position

Under direction, reviews and evaluates cases and program practices for compliance, applies continuous quality improvement principles to identify trends and assess system performance in relation to federal, state, and local regulations and standards; and performs related duties as required. This is an Open Competitive/Countywide Promotional recruitment being conducted to fill a current full-time vacancy in the Washoe County Human Services Agency. The list established from this recruitment may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur.

Requirements

  • Five years of full-time case management experience within the child welfare field.
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, criminal justice, psychology, sociology, or a closely related field.
  • A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and must be maintained for continued employment in this classification.

Nice To Haves

  • A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, criminal justice, psychology, sociology or a closely related field may substitute for two years of experience.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and evaluates cases and program practices for compliance.
  • Applies continuous quality improvement principles to identify trends and assess system performance in relation to federal, state, and local regulations and standards.
  • Collaborates effectively across programs, divisions, and community partners to advance continuous quality improvement efforts.
  • Evaluates programmatic and system-level review findings, identifies trends and root causes, and develops actionable recommendations to enhance program performance and service delivery.
  • Communicates and facilitates effectively, including presenting information clearly, providing training and constructive feedback, and fostering supportive learning environments.
  • Builds and maintains positive working relationships, showing professionalism, sound judgment, adaptability, and a commitment to ongoing improvement initiatives.

  • Eligible employees may receive an annual merit increase of 5% until they reach the maximum salary for the classification.
  • Upon promotion, current Washoe County employees are placed at the minimum rate of the salary range for the higher classification of the new position OR a promotional calculation, whichever is greater.
