The HIV/AIDS Surveillance Data processing/ Non-Identified Risk reclassification (NIR) coordinator is a technical surveillance role responsible for receiving, processing, verifying, and analyzing HIV/AIDS surveillance data for Area 7A (Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties). The position manages sensitive laboratory and case information, conducts medical record reviews, supports epidemiologic investigations, and ensures accurate and timely reporting in accordance with state and federal guidelines. Receive and process HIV/AIDS laboratory reports (electronic and paper) for Area 7A. Conduct record searches, scan, upload, and prepare cases for initial data entry and updates. Review case report forms for completeness, accuracy, and required documentation. Maintain secure HIV/AIDS registries for Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties. Log and track data requests and follow up with reporting sources to resolve discrepancies. Conduct periodic registry audits to ensure accuracy and completeness. Provide clerical and administrative support to the Surveillance Unit. Perform medical record reviews at hospitals, clinics, correctional facilities, nursing homes, and other relevant sites. Maintain ongoing communication with providers and agencies to ensure timely and accurate case reporting. Ensure confidentiality and data security in all aspects of work. Prepare surveillance reports, case updates, and quarterly activity summaries. Develop and maintain working relationships with county health departments, hospitals, physicians, nurses, case managers, and community partners. Respond to data requests within required timeframes and provide technical assistance as needed. Support special epidemiological investigations as requested by Department of Health or Center for Disease control. Investigate HIV/AIDS cases reported with No Identified Risk to obtain missing risk information. Contact reporting providers and request medical records from clinics, hospitals, and testing sites. Conduct database searches using Surveillance Tools and Reporting Systems (STARS), Electronic health registry system (eHRS), Health Management System (HMS), Merlin database, and Axiom reporting system database. Document and coordinate Non-Identified Risk reclassification (NIR) and submit monthly reports to the State Health Office. Identify providers with high NIR rates and assist with technical assistance workshops. Arrange and conduct NIR interviews at locations convenient for clients and providers. Complete and submit NIR Questionnaires to the State NIR Coordinator. Other duties as assigned.
