About The Position

The Human Services Enforcement Assistant position in the Division of Support Enforcement & Recovery (DSER) is a full-time role, Monday-Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. This paraprofessional position provides administrative support within a Child Support Office. Duties are varied and include processing administrative and legal documents such as wage attachments, license revocations, passport denials, and placing/releasing motor vehicle liens. The role involves communicating with parents, answering questions, and providing information about the child support program. Responsibilities also include managing and prioritizing correspondence, handling telephone customer service, building cases, managing contact with individuals applying for child support services, document imaging and indexing, scheduling genetic testing, and assisting with general office duties. This position allows for partial telework with management approval.

Requirements

  • Foundational education, training, and/or experience in office/administrative support work or another related area demonstrating competency in applying office support processes, procedures, and practices; gathering and organizing information; tracking and maintaining records; and explaining or assisting with administrative processes.
  • Expert, skilled, or novice in Outlook, Excel, MS Word and comparable word processing/spreadsheet applications
  • Data Entry (entering data and narratives)
  • Written and Verbal Communications, including keyboarding & telephone skills
  • Customer Service
  • Teamwork

Responsibilities

  • Processing administrative documents and assisting with processing legal documents, which may include wage attachments, license revocation, passport denial and placing/releasing motor vehicle liens
  • Communicating with parents, answering questions, and providing information about the child support program
  • Managing and prioritizing correspondence/contacts, including electronic and hard mail, addressing time sensitive mail promptly
  • Telephone Customer Service
  • Building cases and managing contact with individuals applying for child support services
  • Document imaging and indexing

  • Assisting with general office duties
