About The Position

This position involves investigative and protective services work focused on locating non-custodial parents, establishing, enforcing, and collecting child support obligations, and establishing paternity for children born out of wedlock. The role requires initiating administrative collection actions, appropriate court actions, and representing the Department's interest in Maine District Court regarding child support matters. The position is located in Bangor and allows for partial telework after an initial training period, subject to management approval and operational needs. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship or STEM OPT extensions.

Requirements

  • A Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice, Business or Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Directly related paraprofessional or higher-level experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Applicants are subject to pre-employment screening including verification of minimum qualifications, application information, employment history, and references.
  • Selected candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment, fingerprint-based criminal history record check.
