About The Position

The incumbent works under the supervision of Business Manager II and is responsible for processing Medicaid applications to meet the individual needs of residents. Interviews residents, reviews records, and confers with other professionals to assist with financial needs. Demonstrate strong auditing, investigative, research, and organizational skills, as well as having up-to-date knowledge of the Florida Medicaid program and be able to accurately apply software programs needed to complete investigations and audits. Process information with HMO or third-party insurance for Medicare and Medicaid. Assist in the admissions process as needed. Provide tours to the facility for prospective residents and families. Assist in application process for new admissions. Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be a current employee of the Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be fluent in the English language: reading, writing, speaking
  • Must have basic computer skills, including in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, and Word)
  • Successful completion of the due diligence process to include, but not limited to, a Level II background check and drug test

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of experience in a health care setting in a business office setting
  • Experience working in a nursing home or long-term care/120-bed skilled nursing facility
  • Experience working in a Medical A/R; Medicaid/Medicare eligibility and insurance processes
