About The Position

The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is offering a career growth opportunity for a Human Services Coordinator Supervisor in the Holyoke Chicopee Area Office. This role involves building partnerships with individuals, families, guardians, provider agencies, and other stakeholders. The supervisor will provide direct supervision, support, consultation, and orientation to Human Service Coordinators and other staff. This position is a key member of the Area Office supervisory team, contributing to the planning and resource allocation for community services. The supervisor will oversee ASD, Children, and Transition SC's. Responsibilities include planning, prioritizing, and coordinating staff work, monitoring Individual Service Plans, ensuring compliance with policies, and maintaining case documentation. The role also involves identifying and escalating cases involving health, safety, risk, and changing needs, and engaging in problem-solving. Performance management, including planning, feedback, and evaluations for assigned staff, is also a key duty. Other related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • At least four (4) years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, case management or clinical/therapeutic experience.
  • Any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
  • Incumbents who elect to use a motor vehicle for travel must have a current and valid motor vehicle driver's license at a class level specific to assignment.

Nice To Haves

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field may substitute for two (2) years of the required (A) experience.
  • Based on assignment as Qualified Intellectual Disabled Professionals, within the Department of Developmental Services, a Bachelor's degree or higher in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, counseling education, education of the physically or emotionally handicapped, education of the multiple handicapped, education of the learning disabled, human services, rehabilitation, rehabilitation counseling, nursing, recreation therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, music therapy, physical education or other a related field is required.
  • Based on assignment as a Mental Health Case Manager or Forensic Transition Team Coordinator, within the Department of Mental Health, a Bachelor's degree or higher in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, counseling education, education of the physically or emotionally handicapped, education of the multiple handicapped, education of the learning disabled, human services, rehabilitation counseling, education or other a related field is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision, support, consultation, and orientation to assigned Human Service Coordinator Is and other staff.
  • Supervise the ASD, Children, and Transition SC's.
  • Plan, prioritize, and coordinate the work of assigned staff, incorporating administrative, supportive, and educational components.
  • Monitor Individual Service Plans.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Assure that case documentation is maintained and consistent with standards.
  • Identify individual cases involving health, safety, risk, and changing needs and ensure they are brought to the attention of the Area Director or designee(s).
  • Engage in problem-solving related to identified cases.
  • Monitor and provide consistent performance planning, feedback, and evaluations to assigned staff.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
