About The Position

Goodwill of Western and Northern Connecticut is seeking determined individuals with a great passion for helping others. Those with experience in Human Services or those seeking a career change are encouraged to apply for this rewarding position! As a Human Services Associate, you would be assisting program participants with disabilities at their place of employment by helping them maintain their jobs and become more independent in the workplace.

Requirements

  • Experience in the human services or related field strongly desired.
  • A high school diploma preferred.
  • Satisfactory driving record, current driver's license, and daily access to a reliable, registered, and insured vehicle for frequent in-state driving.
  • First Aid and CPR are required (Goodwill can provide training after hire).
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Provide vocational instruction for teaching participants work tasks and appropriate social skills, whether on-site or during job skills training groups.
  • Interface with designated team members to maintain schedules to support participants.
  • Ensure participant safety by familiarizing participants with safety rules and regulations at their work or volunteer sites.
  • Complete applicable written documentation and data collection within the Therap case management system, including reporting on participant goals outlined in the ISP Program Data.
  • Encourage participants to maximize production and enhance relationships with supervisors and co-workers.
  • Report individual participant progress to the Goodwill DDS Case Manager during weekly team meetings.
  • Maintain regular communication with employers to review productivity and quality of work.
  • Complete weekly timecards with input from participants who engage in temporary work experiences.
