This Human Rights Commission Investigator position is part of the Civil Rights Division at the Agency for Human Rights. Under general direction, the investigator promotes and implements the Agency for Human Rights’ programs and activities involving complaints of discrimination and dispute resolution, in the areas of employment, fair housing and public accommodations. The Civil Rights Division works towards justice through the enforcement of local anti-discrimination laws by investigating and mediating complaints about discrimination in employment, housing, and access to business establishments or other public places. The team acts in a neutral role to investigate and mediate complaints of discrimination in housing, employment and access to business or other public places, as well as complaints of noncompliance with the Sanctuary City Ordinance and the housing provisions of the Fair Chance Ordinance. They also engage stakeholders to resolve community disputes and issues involving equal treatment and discrimination, and provide information and referrals related to human rights, civil rights, and social justice.
