About The Position

As the Manager, Human Resources (HR) Technology, you will shape the future of HR operations by providing strategic vision, innovative solutions, and operational leadership for the technologies that power the employee experience. You will lead and manage a team of HR Technology professionals, guiding the delivery of solutions that streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and enable seamless integration across HR systems. You will partner with HR and peer teams to ensure technology solutions support business priorities, maintain data accuracy, strengthen process integrity, and maximize the value of HR technology investments. You will ensure thorough planning for implementation and maintenance to optimize system performance while minimizing human resources (HR) operations disruptions. You will support HR staff in identifying technology solutions to streamline and improve business processes. You will promote understanding of technology system impacts and capabilities among system users to support efficient use, problem identification, and resolution. You will ensure communication of new functionality, system updates, and training to support effective implementation. You will provide leadership and management to the HR Technology team, including hiring, coaching, mentoring, training, performance management, discipline, recognition, teambuilding, and goal setting. You will foster a collaborative work environment that supports effective use of HR technologies and exceptional customer service. You will lead the Human Capital Management (HCM) Core Group (HR, Information Communication Technology (ICT) and Payroll) in discussions, problem solving, priority setting, and resource coordination. You will advocate for resources to meet HR technology needs and lead the HCM User Group in process discussions, problem solving, and resource sharing. You will partner with the director to develop and implement strategic technology plans that support efficient HR operations. You will research emerging technologies and enhancements to existing systems that provide value to HR. You will manage the HR Technology budget and allocate resources, including providing analysis and justification for new budget requests. You will oversee and manage HR Technology procurements, coordinating stakeholders, resources, and timelines. You will ensure HR technologies are aligned and integrated with each other, non-HR systems that share data, and business processes to support efficient operations across HR and the Port. You will provide HR system data to Port employees with a legitimate business need and ensure the security of all HR technologies.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of experience in business enterprise information technology and systems, including system design, implementation, updates and/or recommend business solutions.
  • Two (2) years of experience supervising, mentoring, leading staff, projects and/or processes.
  • Deep knowledge of HR technologies, systems, and business processes, with expertise in software development, implementation, technology evaluation, and budget management.
  • Ability to assess and deliver technology solutions that enhance HR operations.
  • Strong listening, written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build collaboration and consensus by identifying common ground and aligning stakeholders on decisions and actions.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills, including coaching, development, performance management, and team motivation.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and foster effective, collaborative teams across HR and the Port.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate options, assess impacts, and provide data-informed recommendations.
  • Ability to use creative and systems thinking to identify solutions that improve and support HR operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with human capital management (HCM) platforms, including on-premises and software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions.
  • Experience with HCM platforms that integrate with HR systems such as applicant tracking, learning management, and benefits administration platforms.
  • Understanding of system data exchanges and how integrations support accurate and efficient HR operations.
  • Experience with on-premises PeopleSoft, Cornerstone, or Taleo.
  • Experience supporting HR programs or processes, including talent acquisition, talent development, total rewards, or other organizational functions.
