About The Position

The Human Resources Student provides confidential, professional, administrative assistance to the Organizational Design and Workforce Planning team within the Human Resources portfolio to support daily operations and special projects. The Human Resources Student performs a full range of transactional HR duties, which require an understanding of HR systems, internal policies and procedures, Collective Agreements, and relevant legislation specific to the department in which they are supporting.

Requirements

  • Recent graduate from Human Resources program or relevant University Degree (Business, Organizational Development etc.)
  • Intermediate technical skills using PeopleSoft, Oracle Cloud, Taleo, SharePoint and Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio)
  • Strong administrative and organizational background, ability to prioritize, multi-task, schedule and carry out tasks with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work autonomously with moderate to minimal supervision, as well as work effectively as part of a team
  • Proven research and analytical capabilities.
  • Demonstrated excellence in effective communication (written and verbal)
  • Demonstrated analytical ability and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Working towards CHRP/CHRL considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Supports full cycle recruitment initiatives
  • Administrative support for large scale recruitment initiatives (e.g. in person/virtual career fairs and employer events).
  • Supports Organizational Design & Workforce Planning team by gathering required data/preparing research, in order to synthesize information to draw conclusions and make recommendations.
  • Assists with maintenance of project plans and project documentation as required.
  • Support maintenance of tools and templates or policies/ guidelines to support programs/ processes.
