The Human Resource Specialist plays a critical role in scaling hiring and onboarding processes, ensuring consistency, compliance, and a positive employee experience for new hires across diverse locations. The role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage high‑volume onboarding and administrative workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Highly organized with strong administrative and time‑management skills
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, multi‑location environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace, Slack, etc.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Human Resources, onboarding, or recruiting coordination
  • Familiarity with HRIS or ATS platforms
  • Interest in HR operations and employee experience
  • Experience in HR over a blue-collar service, logistics, waste management and collection, construction, or similar operational environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing scalable HR systems and processes that support our business through high periods of growth.
  • Coordinate and manage the end‑to-end onboarding process for new hires
  • Ensure completion of pre‑employment requirements including all documentation, background checks, and work authorizations
  • Prepare and process new hire paperwork and system access (ADP, offer letters, NDAs, etc.)
  • Assisting in recruiting/job postings and filtering applicants
  • I9 management and collection of required documentation for all new hires
  • Running background checks and motor vehicle records on new hires and monitoring to ensure compliance
  • Partner with operations and field leaders to ensure new hires are job‑ready
  • Conduct onboarding sessions or orientations as needed, virtual or in person
  • Maintain accurate employee records in HR systems
  • Assist with employee benefits enrollment, changes, and general inquiries
  • Respond to employee questions related to onboarding, benefits, and HR policies
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment requirements
  • Assist with audits, reporting, and HR documentation
  • Support Strategic People & Talent projects and administrative tasks as assigned
