About The Position

The Human Resources Specialist serves as the primary Human Resources contact providing day-to-day HR support to employees and supervisors while ensuring consistent application of company policies, employment laws, and HR best practices. This position plays a key role in supporting employee relations, onboarding, compliance, HR administration, and employee engagement initiatives. The Human Resources Specialist works independently on routine HR matters while partnering closely with the Human Resources Manager on complex employee relations issues, investigations, policy interpretation, compliance concerns, and strategic initiatives. This role reports to Human Resources Manager and is in Guilford. Occasional travel between locations may be required.

  • ADP WFN experience a plus.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR resource for employees and supervisors at the assigned facility.
  • Respond to employee and management questions regarding company policies, procedures, and HR-related matters.
  • Provide guidance to supervisors regarding attendance, performance, documentation, corrective action, and workplace concerns.
  • Assist in fostering a positive work environment through effective employee relations practices.
  • Support the resolution of routine employee concerns and workplace issues.
  • Assist with workplace investigations under the guidance of the Human Resources Manager.
  • Prepare employee documentation and partner with supervisors on corrective action processes.
  • Escalate complex, sensitive, or high-risk relation matters to the Human Resources Manager.
  • Coordinate and conduct new hire orientation and onboarding activities.
  • Ensure completion and accuracy of required onboarding documentation.
  • Serve as a resource for new employees during the onboarding process.
  • Support employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives.
  • Assist with employee communications and company-sponsored activities.
  • Assist with recruitment activities as needed, including job postings, interview coordination, candidate communication, and onboarding support.
  • Assist with Coordinating pre-employment processes, including background checks and required documentation.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with supervisors and department leaders.
  • Provide HR guidance and support regarding employee-related concerns.
  • Assist managers in addressing attendance, performance, conduct, and workplace issues.
  • Support managers in maintaining consistent and fair employment practices.
  • Participate in HR initiatives designed to improve processes, compliance, engagement, and employee experience.
  • Assist with policy implementation and communication efforts.
  • Support training and development initiatives.
  • Complete special projects and assignments as requested by the Human Resources Manager.
